Holistic Medicine For Kids!

Our children are like beautiful little sprouts, rising up, blossoming in the sunshine.  When illness, disease, pain or emotional problems arise it's challenging to know what to do for them. Sometimes Western Medicine is amazing, helping set broken bones and stave off infections, but there are many things that Western Medicine doesn't touch or maybe we're concerned about the side effects the drugs have and it's helpful to have different options for our kids. Traditional Chinese Medicine has been practiced for centuries as a way to find balance, combat diseases, and help us find radical health for ourselves and our children, naturally. I'm here to support you and your child as you walk this healing journey, and help bring them to their wholeness that is at the root of their being.

My Treatments

Before any work is done, I build rapport and connection with your child and only move as fast as they are comfortable. There are so many options for treatment we'll find what feels most comfortable for you both. Babies are often held in arms, toddlers enjoy playing with toys as the treatment happens, and older kids can get comfy on a massage table with blankets, pillows and an optional table warmer.

Chinese Pediatric Massage

Gentle Hand Work

This is the stimulation of points and meridians with gentle massage and pressing. It's helpful for a variety of disorders from insomnia to asthma, colds to teething, bed wetting to digestive problems.

Noninvasive Stimulation of Points

Shonishin is a traditional Japanese style of non-needle treatment, that uses little tools to stimulate the points. It helps balance the body and kids love it!

Body Acupuncture or "Taps"

Balancing the Whole Body

In our clinic we call needles "taps," as most people get the wrong impression with "needles." Needling kids is not the same as adults, the needles are super fine and small, there is usually no sensation at all and they are usually just left in for a minute or 2 depending on the age of the kiddo as opposed to adults where they're retained anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. "Taps" are super helpful in the treatment of eczema, fever, asthma, colic, colds, headaches, anxiety, teething, digestive problems, and so much more!

“Where there’s stagnation, there will be pain. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.”

Cupping is an ancient therapy that uses suction to move lymph and blood. It relieves pain, warms the body, helps relieve colds, and excellent for all sorts of disorders.  It feels like an inverted deep tissue massage.
